When the Logarithmic rolloff is selected it seems to work fine when the minimum distance is set to 1. When I change it to 37 (I’m doing a 2.5d platformer so don’t want anything to rolloff until outside the screen) things just don’t rolloff at all. They just get to the maximum distance and cut out.

Any ideas? There might be something obvious I’ve missed.

The rate of decay for logarithmic rolloff is dependent on the mindistance, so a very large value like 37 will cause it to decay very slowly over a long distance. I think linear rolloff is a better fit for your needs, if you do want it to be non-linear, you could create a custom rolloff.
