Is there a way that I can link a sound instance when I add a sound in the event editor to make it so the beginning of the sound block is the the beginning of the sound and the end is the end, so I can move the cursor to play through the sound as fast as I want?

No, the event layers cannot be treated as a timeline. What are you trying to acheive?

I have some accelerating sounds of a boat that im trying to link together. I guess ill have to just edit the sounds.

I don’t think you will need to edit the sounds. We have an engine designer tool inside FMOD Designer, take a look at examples/AdvancedTechniques/Car, does that do what you need?
