I’m trying to find out if FMOD will work with Unity. The information on the FMOD Designer page says that FMOD is now the default audio engine for Unity. However, I came across this thread on the forum which sounds as though you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get it to work.

Will FMOD be the default for Unity 3, and it just hasn’t been released yet?

Unity use FMOD Ex under the hood for all of their sound, they just don’t expose it to scripting. Currently, they have not integrated our high level Designer API into their system. The thread you pointed to explains how to create a second instance of FMOD which you can use to control Designer generated content.
I don’t beleive Unity 3 will include an FMOD Designer integration but beyond that I do not know. You will probably get better information about that from the Unity3D team. If it is a high priority for you then let them know, I know I would love to see Designer integrated into Unity.
