Hi everyone,

I was wondering if I am doing something wrong.

When I import the audio files into FMOD Designer I just drag’n’drop the files into the event tab. Usually that works fine.
Now I have almost 1000 sounds in the project. Each time I import (only one file) it takes ages (up to 2 minutes) until I can go on working.

Where is the trick?
Has anyone an idea?

Thanks in advance :)

We have been experiencing the same issue since upgrading to FMOD-2010 (4.32.00). We have well over 2000+ events in our project and it’s insanely SLOW to import.. or change event names/sound definition names/etc. My guess is it has something to do with the undo system. Previous projects I’ve worked on utilizing FMOD have had well over 3000+ events without issue. Frustrating to say the least.

Brett/Andrew, have you had others complaining about similar issues? I will point out that the issue is non-existent if I create a new project. Seems to only occur once you reach a certain # of event’s in your FDP.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide with investigating this matter.

Hi 3xg, analogmad,

Yes, it is related to undo and large projects.

If you can, split up your project into multiple FDP files. This should help with the slowdown issue.

Unfortunately the fix for this issue will require some major underlying changes to Designer.

The good news is we’re working on it, though it will take some time. We’re aiming for March next year.

Best,

Raymond.

Thanks for the reply Raymond! Unfortunately my project will be done prior to the fix date. It’s a pretty big inconvenience… but I’ll have to deal with it in the mean time. Glad to know its on the radar for future projects.

Cheers
