Hey guys, i writing a game for a student final project and and got a problem using FMOD, First off, im using direct show to play Intro movies, as soon as the movie is done playing, i play an MP3 for the menu music that loops. This sample is coming in crackling with some kind of interfearence. I have found out that if i dont play the movie before i play the sound, this doesnt happen. But this should not affect the sound because i unload everything directshow related before doing anything with FMOD, would love some feed back, thanks guys!

Hey Brett, I built the class that Random452 is using. I’m trying it out in a workspace that doesn’t have any of the DShow stuff in it so I’ve eliminated any errors that are unrelated to FMOD. It’s strictly a testbed for the FMOD class and only has FMOD stuff in it. I’m having an even bigger problem than the one that he mentions above. When I load up wav files into specific channel #s I’m getting an error. I can load 2 wav files, one into channel 3 and one into channel 4 and the program will run fine and play the sounds fine. However, if I load a third wav file into channel 2 the program will crash. I’ve checked the maxchannels and I’m getting 64 channels available right before I try to load the third wav. I also checked IsPlaying(channel) on channel 2 right before I try to load a wav into it and it’s returning “0”. I’m also specifying which channel to play each wav on when I call FSOUND_PlaySound. I’m using the exact same channel #s for each wav file that I use when I load them. I load the wavs inside of InitInstance and play them on VK_KEYDOWN within the case WM_KEYDOWN. You have any idea what I’m doing wrong?
