The Sample1.exe runs fine. Obviously, it is not compiled from the Sample1 source, since it won’t compile (has FSOUND_GetCurrentVU vice FSOUND_GetCurrentLevels).

There must be some issue with the VB IDE (VB6 SP5). Is it possibly because of the codecs installed on my machine?

Kind of hard to develop if you have to compile/run vice running in the IDE.

Ok, I’m confused, what’s your question?

All you have to do to get Sample 1 to work is to replace GetCurrentVU to GetCurrentLevels. And you cannot use Lowpass via the IDE, only the compiled EXE can use effects.

Not using any DSP effects.

Finally nuked it out. Sample1’s init statement was

…FSOUND_Init(44100, 32, 0)…

I found that changing the flags arg to
FSOUND_INIT_GLOBALFOCUS Or FSOUND_INIT_ACCURATEVULEVELS
allows FMOD to run in the VB IDE.

Thanks anyway.
