On a 133 MHz ARM 720 based SmartPhone, playback of a single XM (6 channels) takes in excess of 30% of CPU power at 22050 Hz (no big difference between stereo/mono and quality and normal mixers)
On a 206 MHz StrongARM, the same XM takes about about 6 % of the CPU.
All of my own code seems to be running at about 70% speed compared to the StrongARM (which translates directly to the reduced MHz) – but apparently not FMOD….
Yeah – and as my previous post says, I’ve had no luck selecting lower frequencies.
