Hello, I am currently perplexed on why I cannot change the frequency of the white noise Oscillator in the DSP.

result = dsp->setParameter(FMOD_DSP_OSCILLATOR_RATE, 440.0f);

The other waveforms perform correctly, but cannot find how to change the base frequency of the white noise generator.

Thanks for your time.

White noise does not have a frequency, that should probably return an error, I’ll look into that. If you want to change the charecteristic of the noise you could filter the noise with a lowpass or highpass filter.

I see. What I wanted to do is try to simulate the white noise channel of the Nes 2A03. It has a variable bit-rate playback of the generated pseudo generated noise thru the bit-shifter with variable decay. This can simulate different kinds of percussion.

You can have slow bit-rate which sounds bass, and higher like snare.

Thanks.

Try adjusting the pitch of the channel the DSP oscillator is playing on. That might allow you to acheive the effect you desire.

Thank you very much, I’ll give that a shot. 😀

I appreciate the help.
