Hi,

I’d like to know how, if it’s even possible, to play a stream like this one with the fmod library:
[list:16qkw1yp]- http:///talpa-asx.streaming.is.nl//streaming.asp?P=20001&Q=R538_HIGH/list:u:16qkw1yp
I tried playing it with
[code:16qkw1yp]system->createStream("http:///talpa-asx.streaming.is.nl//streaming.asp?P=20001&Q=R538_HIGH", FMOD_DEFAULT | FMOD_CREATESTREAM, 0, &sound);[/code:16qkw1yp]

but I got error 52: "Couldn’t connect to the specified host".

I tried playing the following stream but they all didn’t work:
[list:16qkw1yp]http://www.q-music.nl/asx/q-music.asx
mms://wm1.streaming.castor.nl/100pctnl=wm2
http://wma1.actionradio.nl/actionradio_wma_high[/list:u:16qkw1yp]

So if it’s possible, how do I play streams like this?

Tim

This works as of this post date

create_stream should work as is (as long as you did not hook your own file io functions)… at one point you will have to use code similar to the web example to control the flow using the non blocking flag…

Thank you very much, they work for me now. I was still using three slashes instead of two.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.

Is it as simple as passing the url of the audio stream to the createStream function?

Is it possible to give me a working stream so I can try playing it? I tried the url of the asx playlist (I opened it in a text editor), but it still didn’t work.

FMOD supports shoutcast and icecast protocols for Internet streaming as well as direct HTTP, we do not support MMS.
I checked some of those links and they point to ASX playlists, not directly to audio streams.

I did that, but I still got the "couldn’t connect to specified host" error.
