I’m wondering if it’s feasible to alter the SFX Reverb dsp path. There are two things I’d like to do with it: Add a custom echo DSP in front of the reverb to enhance the built-in I3DL2 effect, and reroute the output of the SFX Reverb unit to our master buss (a specific channelgroup we define in our engine), making it simpler to control global volume and apply global effects instead of it’s default destination (which I believe is the FMOD Channelgroup Target Unit).

It looks like it would be simply enough to walk up the chain and make alterations to the DSPs in question, but I’d like to know if this is safe and/or recommended. Or, is there an alternate approach you would recommend to do something like this?

as long as you dont touch anything to do with the inputs of the reverb, and just change the outputs, then yes you can do that and fmod’s channel system won’t mind.
