Hi, how are you.

I have a "problem". I made an a radio application(play music in streaming). Well, this works
fine, but i meet a little problem.
I want that when user click one button the sound that is playing at the moment come to the beginning again

I tried with setPosition, but i got an error: "Couldn’t perform a seek", i suppose that it doesn’t work because i’m playing a streaming.
Also tried with stop channel, and then call playsound again, but i got the same error. "Couldn’t perform a seek".

Is there any way to do this better?

Thanks a lot

Hi Peter,

Do you have any idea to record the sound that is playing at the moment into a memory buffer?
I don’t understand very well how i can take the data of netstream.

Can you give me some advice?

Thanks a lot

You can buffer in memory rather on disk just be careful not to run out of memory. Either way I think you will need to buffer the data yourself because we do not expose our internal buffers and they are probably not big enough for your needs anyway. Streams discard the data once it’s been played.

thanks for your attention Peter.

I thought that if i could manipulate stream’s memory buffer then I could move inside them. I don’t want recording to disk (maybe is too slow) , if it is possibly i want manage in memory.
Is there any way to do this?

If you want to seek backward in the stream you’re going to have to buffer the data, probably by recording it to disk.
