Hello,

We examined the "playsound" example in fmodex4330android_prerelease.zip, and we are not able to load and use fmod.so in the same way. Our project is using the Android NDK 5b, and our application is a "native activity" that is compiled C++ and contains no Java. Might we have some help initializing / using fmod as a native activity?

Thanks!
Curtis

We have just restarted active development for the Android platform, so we hope to sort out the examples for the first official Android release. At the moment I cannot advise you as the native activity feature is new since our last preview version.

What I do know is that FMOD currently requires Java to setup the audio system (OpenSL wasn’t available back then either). I think what we will do is provide a version of FMOD that is built against Android-3, and a version built against Android-9, the 9 version will use OpenSL internally and should fully support native activity, the 3 version will require Java and be our ‘most compatible’ version for older devices.
