Hey guys, I’m looking to make a rhythm game in C++ and just want to use some simple beat detection to make things go past the screen whenever there’s a noticeable beat.

Problem is I’m new to FMOD and only used it to put in background music and sound effects in a previous project of mine.

I’ve tried google, to little avail. I’m wondering if there is a tutorial on fmod.org or on this forum that I am missing that could help me add basic beat detection to an audio file of my choosing.

If anyone has this kind of resource it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Cruncher, I am working on a similiar project from some months ago. I have used a combination of this two links to create my own beat detection algorithm. The code on the second link is based on the first’s explanation so everything is connected.

I hope it is usefull for you.
