This is a noob question.

I’ve come up with a bunch of ambient atmosphere sounds that loop seamlessly in pro tools but I can’t figure out how to loop in FMOD (the files have no silence at the beginning or end). What is the simplest way to have these sorts of files loop endlessly? Should I be looping the sounds at the sound def layer or the event layer? I’ve tried a bunch of things and nothing seems to work. The best I can do is get a sound as simple event to play repeatedly separated by a sort of long silence each time.

Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks!

You should be able to set up a looping sound in a simple event pretty easily. Which version of the designer are you using? The newer versions don’t even require a sound def for simple events. If you are using a version that only uses the multi-track event editor, then you can import the sound def as a looping instance and make sure the "oneshot" property is set to no.
