Hello,

I’m experimenting with FMOD’s MIDI playback capabilities under iOS and I found a strange behavior: it seems that playback duration always matches the length of the sound as retrieved by the Sound::getLength function, and that setting the relative speed with Sound::setMusicSpeed function doesn’t alter this behavior. I mean that if the sound’s length is, say, 60 secs, when I set a relative speed of 0.5 (half speed), playback gets truncated in the middle of the file, while when I set a relative speed of 2.0 (double speed) the playback ends after 30 secs and the channel remains in the playing state for the remaining 30 secs without generating any sound!

I’m missing something (maybe during the System::createSound call) or this behavior is by design?

Best regards,

Carmelo

Unfortunately you are correct and aren’t missing anything. The feature is broken in that regard and we are considering it’s removal as the solution to fix it is not trivial.
