Hi,

Is there is there an appetite in the FMOD community for users to contribute their own ‘extras’ or libraries of DSP callbacks for use with FMOD? I can imagine many projects facing similar problems and a number of wheels getting reinvented over and again. The obvious ones that spring to mind are:

  • an extra for adding real-time MIDI input for parameter control
  • an extra containing a library of fancy DSP callbacks (various types of delays, filters, spectral processing etc)

Anything like that already exist? Or maybe FMOD plays nicely with other libraries (STK) in this regard?

Thanks in advance,

Jamie

There is not a whole lot of public user contributed content for FMOD. We do have a wiki page which was intended for that purpose: http://52.88.2.202/wiki/index.php5?title=Main_Page
The majority of our users are game development studios which generally don’t share a lot of code.

There are various 3rd party libraries which can be utilized for this, however as far as I am aware there is no publicly available integration.

We do support VST plugins, which is a good way to use 3rd party DSPs.

I had a quick glance over the STK and it looks like you could get that working inside FMOD using their StkFrames class along with an FMOD custom DSP.

Good luck with your development and if you do make something to share I’m sure it would be greatly appreciated by the other users.
