Hi
Just getting to grips with an iPhone FMOD project. How do we go about getting AAC files to work – can FMOD use the iPhone’s hardware decoder? How do I get AAC files into an FSB?
Thanks

Hi Matthew
What sort of performance gains would you expect using AAC over MP3?
Is it a significant percentage?
Thanks

FMOD on iOS devices supports the playback of AAC compressed audio data using the built in hardware, however only with loose files (not FSB). If you wish to use AAC compressed audio with FMOD Designer you will need to use ‘programmer sounds’.

Has anybody found a solution for making AAC files loop w/out a gap? I’m converting using Sound Forge using their "Main Concept AVC/ACC (mp4) encoder, and of course, there is a gap on the loop. Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

I don’t have exact numbers but if I remember correctly AAC decoding gave noticeably better performance, if you are asking which format I would recommend, definitely AAC.
