I know you are supposed to be able to shorten and lengthen the sounds, even overlap them for crossfades. I can get the automation to work and everything, but I can’t get the sounds the be able to shorten and lengthen. If I place them on the same track they become equal sizes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are two ways to adjust the length of sounds on a parameter.
Firstly, you should be able to click and drag the right and left edges of any sound instance, so long as the event has at least one parameter.
Secondly, you should be able to right-click on a sound instance to open a context-sensitive menu and select the ‘Sound Instance Properties…’ menu item, then adjust the ‘Start Position’ and ‘Length’ properties. Again, this should work so long as there is at least one parameter in the event.
If either of these methods isn’t working for you, could you please describe exactly what goes wrong? Oh, and what version of Designer are you using?
kazanz – I may be at risk sounding like an idiot so please excuse me if I do. When I read your post and you said shorten and lengthen, did you mean the actual length of the audio? or the length (ie 500 pixels across) in the parameter line?
