Ok, I am a newbie to FMOD and have this problem.

I have a routine that needs to pause the game while a certain sound is playing (a powerup sound).

//PLAY POWERUP SOUND
int Channel = FSOUND_FREE;
FSOUND_PlaySound(Channel, SAM_POWERUP);

//Wait until sound is finished and then unpause game
while(FSOUND_IsPlaying(Channel))
{
    GAME_PAUSED = true;
}

This has worked using CDX Sound but in FMOD, it PLAYS, but does not pause…what am I missing? I have the newest version if that helps.

I fixed it.

I did a:

CHANNEL = PlaySound(FSOUND_FREE, SAM_POWERUP);

Worked like a champ…man I love FMOD!
