Hi all I am newbie to FMOD but am rapidly falling in love with it. But I noticed a function that could get the BPM of the channel I was playing off of. But when I call that function and assign it to a variable it just stays zero. How may I easily make this work. I have a feeling it isn’t as easy as what I am trying to do I have a feeling I have to send some spectrum data to it and have it calculate. But am not sure. Does anybody have an example of this I may look at.

Thanks in Advance to all who post

Sorry I classified it wrong.

Yes that is what I am talking about. So that doesn’t return the BPM of a Music file? Is there any way to do this?

If not does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks

I found an ocx to insert on my form that will calculate BPM

Now I have a question. When I am getting FSOUND_DSP_GetSpectrum is that calculating off of the default soundcard that the sound is playing on.. so if I was playing 2 songs at once it would calculate the overall BPM for that soundcard. But if I had 2 soundcards would it calculate different BPM’s for the diff songs?

If so how can I have FMOD use one sound card and another instance use another sound card.

For reference I have copied the .bas file and changed the functions to a different unique name so i can play 2 songs at once. so how do I make one FMOD use one soundcard and the other use another sound card.

Thanks for your help
