If I FSOUND_Sample_Load a sample like the following in SOFTWARE:

.wav (PCM Format)
FSOUND_16BITS
>>>FSOUND_STEREO <<<

Everything goes fine.

If a try to load the same sample in hardware:

.wav (PCM Format)
FSOUND_16BITS
>>>FSOUND_STEREO <<<
>>>FSOUND_HW3D<<<<

I get an “Unknown file format” error.

I supposse it’s because hardware 3D buffers are only mono (it doesn’t make sense a “stereo + 3D sound”), but…

1) FSOUND_HW3D attempts to load it in hardware… so if it doesn’t succeed, shouldn’t it just load in software without giving me errors?

2) Is “Unknown file format” the best descriptor for that error? Actually, it is a known format but it just fails to allocate it in hardware.

Thanks once again 😉
