Sorry if this does not belong here but ive got a problem with 3DMark2003 and the Futuremark website is very slow due to overloading and also couldnt provide me with the help I needed.

On the second sound test I get this error:

FMOD error in FSOUND_SetVolume: An invalid paramater was passed to this function

I am using Windows XP Pro and I have a Soundblaster Live! with all the latest updates and drivers.

Any help would be very much apreciated, thankyou for your time.

Looks to me like the people who wrote the software are trapping an fmod error,
and giving their own error message.

FMOD itself doesn’t crash if an invalid parameter is passed to FSOUND_SetVolume.
(not sure if this is true for older versions of fmod – probably is though)

The only way FSOUND_SetVolume fails is if an invalid channel number/handle is passed to it
(passing an invalid volume doesn’t produce an error)
– if the volume is < 0 volume set is 0 – if it is > 255 volume set is 255

The problem is theirs, not fmods – contact them

I know that it isn’t a fmod, fmod is bug free 😆
But 3DMark …
