using the fmod.exe example program and the vb example the equalizer/spectrum display works with mp3 files but I can’t get it to work with wma. does it? can it?

As Brett sayd before: dshow/internet streams/wma/asf/avi dont use fmod’s normal channels, as they are passed straight to directshow, so theyre incompatible

I realize this is probably not a good answer for you but thiere is a good soluation. There is another dll avialable from M$, or it mighta been 3rd party, that allows spectrum and osc data, its acutally pretty efficent as well, and it allows data on all types of played music. I cna’t quite remember exactly where I attained the source code but I could post it if someone is interested, Its written in C++, but i can prebuild binaries if users can’t do so.

Or you can use FSOUND_GetOutputHandle and play with DirectSound :) (if the directshow output is sent via DirectSound :roll: )

Hi my friend, I am from Venezuela, im doing a music player that have two spectrum, and i’ve the same problem with wma files, but i see that spectrum dont works in Windows Millenium, but works in XP. I dont really know wy but…. try my friend!!

You probably need to install media player 9 runtime, look on fmod.org download page for wmfdist.exe I think it is called.
