Brett,
Would it be at all possible to add a function or two to fmod that could be used to retrieve the ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags from an MP3 sample and/or stream?

Fmod is a soundsystem, it doesn’t provide such functions and probably won’t. However there are a lot of sample code around the net for retrieving ID3 v 1/2 for reading/writing, i suggest you ID3Lib, a powerfull Tag library http://id3lib.sourceforge.net/ (Lyrics are supported)

Hmm.. I think that having ID3 tag retrieval in FMOD itself would be a better option than using another 3rd party libary, it would save the file having to be opened a second time, and it would most definately be a handy addition to people who are writing MP3 or general media player software.
