I am trying to write a guitar effects program that uses line input sampling.
I don’t know where to begin. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am using Borland C++ (free compiler) have written lots of programs but non involving Sound Input/Output. I do however have several DSP routines that I use to modify static RAW audio. When it comes to real time line input I am clueless.

I tried it. But there is a noticeable delay in input vs output… I am guessing this is obviously unavoidable. or is it???

Is there any kind of workaround at least?

Maybe you should add ASIO support… really nice latency :smile:

Hello, I know this topic is already outdated. But how is that waveIn support progressing?

I also have to use the line in for some signal processing, the delay should be minimized. Perhaps you could provide me with some pointers on how to accomplish delay minimalization using fmod?
