Bonjourno, i have two quick question about things that i am trying to do with the FMOD engine:

  1. What i want is to play two seperate sound streams (MP3) and display two seperate grapical EQ’s using the GetSpectrum() function. I have got two files to play at the same time, but when i call (and display) the spectrum it is of the MIXED output. How can i get around this, i imagine a custom DSP would do the trick, but how EXACTLY do i go about that?

  2. I would like to be able to play sound through the “LINE IN” jack of my sound card and save that stream to a hard drive (in MP3 format). I guess i’d have to create a custom stream, but how do i assign that to the LINE IN and how do i save the stream to a file format?

PLEASE … PLEASE … A LITTLE (OR A LOT) HELP.

I also am a newbie about sound so I really cannot be sure of what can be done, however, I would try using multiple DSP units, one for each mp3.

If you are under windows, there should be a file “fmodapi362win32.zip” which you have to get. Inside, you’ll find “FMOD.chm”. Just run it and you should see the tutorial section.

There, I found a part which was speaking about creating new DSP units. By “grouping” mp3 and adding a FFT unit foreach dsp, you should be able to get the mixed output from each DSP…

Not sure about this, however.
