Hi, I just added 3d sound to my game, and finally got it working and it sounds awesome! But… it’s REALLY slow (15% of the execution time is spent on FSOUND_Update). I was wondering if this is just how things get with a lot of sounds going (sometimes 29 at once, when things get really crazy) with calculating velocity and junk, or if i’m doing something wrong and this should be faster?

Specs:
Windows XP
800 Athlon
Soundblaster Live! Value (supports 32 hardware channels)

It also could just be my sound card, I have long since suspected it to be fried (in games using EAX sometimes sounds sound HORRIBLE!). I’d just like to know how FMOD’s 3d sound processing runs for others. Thanks!

How do I force FMOD to use it’s software 3d engine?
