No more technical issues with MIDIs, thankfully, but it just seems to have surfaced recently, with no warning: playing MIDIs makes my program get very skippy. It’s seems like every 50ms or so, the MIDI thread hogs the CPU for split second, making the game very skippy…

Am I doing something wrong? I’ve tried calling FSOUND_Init both with FSOUND_INIT_USEDEFAULTMIDISYNTH and without; same result either way.

Nevermind… I seem to have fixed the problem simply by loading the MIDI via FSOUND_Stream_OpenFile instead of FMUSIC_LoadSong. I’d still like to know however, why FMUSIC is so laggy with MIDIs… it’s like the MIDI thread totally takes over the CPU most of the time.

…and also, I’d still like to know why FSOUND_Stream_OpenFile can load MIDIs in the first place, and moreover, why a MIDI loaded through that method incurs different behavior than one loaded through FMUSIC.
