I wrote a simple program to experiment with fmod

define wxUSE_GUI 0

include <stdio.h>

include <math.h>

include <stdlib.h>

include <conio.h>

include <windows.h>

include <iostream>

include <fstream>

include “fmod.h”

include “fmod_errors.h”

int main()
{
FSOUND_STREAM *stream;

FSOUND_Init(44100, 16, 0);
stream=FSOUND_Stream_OpenFile(“journaallaat_20000614.wav”,FSOUND_2D,0);
FSOUND_Stream_Play(16,stream);
return 0;
}

and I get the following error message

Linking…
LIBCD.lib(wincrt0.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _WinMain@16
Debug/sound.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 1 unresolved externals

how could this be?

thanks,

An

This is because you’re trying to link with the Windows GUI library; however, the samples (as well as your program, from what I can see) are console applications.

I notice you’re using Visual C++. In that case, make sure the project you created for your application is of type “Win32 console application” (you choose the project type when you first create the project). If it isn’t, you’ll need to write a WinMain function, not main.
