Hello, I’ve made a full working 3d sound system with Fmod for my game. However, I load my sounds with the FSOUND_HW3D option… this is really nice because it does not requiere a lot of cpu. The point is that I’ve got a limited number of hardware channel on my sound card. So I’ve tried to load my sounds with the FSOUND_NORMAL option… the sound should be now treated by the processor and not by my sound card. With this solution I could reach the maximum software channel provided by fmod. Well, It works, but unfortunatly on the other hand there is a strange distortion (which does not appear with the FSOUND_HW3D loading methode) of the sound when the source’s going far away.
Is there a way to fix this ? What can I do ?
