To the all knowing ( I’m sure the FMod gurus will be able to handle it ),
I have spent the weekend getting the FMod demo for Delphi working with Kylix. For the most part it works but ( isn’t there always a but ), I have a couple of issues which I am hoping someone in this forum can answer.

As I am not familiar with FMod ( the library ) at all, the only area within the FMod demo that does appear to work properly, are the CPU % monitor and the quality of the Playback.

Under Kylix when a sound, like a WAV or MOD file is played, it plays back at a very high speed and is therefore high pitched. Like I said, I do not know how FMod works properly, either under Windows or Linux, so this probably has something to do with one of the settings. Can anyone shed some light on what may be going wrong here?

It is using the OSS driver from what I can tell. Does this need some special setting to work properly under Linux.

Does anyone know what Linux API calls I need to make to get the CPU usage function working.

Everthing else seems to be working including the Spectrum Analyser. I was about to add the osilliscope function to the demo but since I know very little about sound processing I thought I would leave it until someone explains it to me .

Sincerely,

Dominique Louis

Could you send me example code so I can look in to this?

Hi Magnus,
I assume you at least have a version of Kylix for you to be able to test this on. Either way if you can spot what I am doing wrong by just looking at my code that would be beneficial also.

I will send it to you shortly.

Please let me know where I have messed up with the setup.

Sincerely,

Dominique Louis

Hi Magnus,
I have not heard from you and I really would like to know what I have done wrong. I sent you the code, but have not heard anything back yet.

Sincerely,

Dominique Louis
