VU Level?
If you have PCM data (16 bit signed stereo) you can analyze the array and then check the sample with highest amplitude. Look that highest amplitude means you have not to distinguish from positive and negative (i.e.: you have to check the absolute value of the sample).

Else, you can use FSOUND_GetCurrentLevels :)

Hmm,

could you explain this a bit ?

I throught calculate the Volume Lavel from a given array of Sampels
is done by adding all Samples together diveded by nr of Sampels ?

Oh fine :)

I choose this Board for my Question, but i have to calculate without FMOD.
What Samples will FMOD return if using FSOUND_SAMPLE_LOCK ?
Is it in some way modifyed ? or is it just a ‘snapshot’ from the actual Samples beeing played ?

Hi,
This is not a FMOD Qurstion.
I programming allmost in Java (Winamp Clone). Am i right
that i have to mulipy the Volume Level with the Spectrum Data
calculated from given Samples ?

Thx 4 feedback,
