Hi all,

I’m new to the wonderful world that is FMOD. I’m building an application which has an audio wrapper to FMOD and when building the application it is instructed to link with fmodvc.lib.

All builds and links okay as expected but when I go to run the application I get a windows popup telling me that the application failed to run because fmod.dll could not be found. Since I did not specify anywhere in the build that fmod.dll should be linked to, am I to presume the static library itself uses/requires fmod.dll. Is this documented somewhere. Has anyone seen this before, if so could they talk to me.

cheers,
ger.

Bizarre,

I always used the FAQ in the forum as I thought it was the same as the FAQ link on the contacts page for FMOD. But its not and essentially I’ve now found the information I’ve been looking for. The facts are that a static version of the library is not available for free. This is fine with me so long as I can be sure of getting a static library under license.

ger :)

If you license FMOD then you get a static version of the library. Only the dynamic version is available free of charge.
