I’m working with streams and user streams and I got some problems.
I noticed a thing that happens when a process with high priority is working concurrently with fmod based applications.
Practically streams sound chopped and go into fast buffer loops if I move, for example, a high priority process around the screen (Task Manager, for example). This happens also with user streams but doesn’t happen if I play a module.
I also noticed that user streams (and also streams I think) have thread priority set to 2 (highest), while dsp callback procedures gain 15 (real time).
Why streams have no real time priority like dsps?
My OS is Windows XP Home edition
