“This version removes mp2/mp3/ogg/aiff/mod/s3m/it and spectrum analysis support. DLL sizes are significantly reduced as a result. DLL and headers only. “

Can this version play oxm files? I would guess not since ogg is removed but just checking to make sure. I request including ogg even in the stripped version as ogg is pretty small and can save quite a bit of space for xm files converted to oxm. I don’t understand why the stripped dlls are so big, the win32 version is only 145k but the stripped arm is 224k, why such a difference and any way of making is smaller?

It seems odd to me that the small version doesn’t support MP3s. I would love a small version that supports nothing but MP3s, with no special effects, nothing.

i just tried the small ce dll and ogg and oxm do work fine in it. so you could really strip it and make is a lot smaller since i’ve read in other threads that ogg takes up 40% or so of the dll size.

[quote="brett":woipo9v6]everyone wants a combination of their own features, i cant cater for everything, otherwise there would be 10,000 dlls.
[/quote:woipo9v6]Can you not supply a static library instead of these DLLs?

i believe you get static libs and source if you buy a license for it.

also the seperate DLL thing sound awesome, allowing people to plug in different aspects of fmod only if needed, but as your comments about dlls, if you do this you will have a lot of dlls :) probably over 100, there has to be an easier way? maybe only make it pluggable where it makes sense, on PPC ARM only, since that is by far the most popular PPC platform and the only one supported by MS, making it pluggable on the PC is doesn’t gain you much since it is already very small, even on the PPC it probably isn’t needed since devices now come with 64MB+ standard…
