I’d like to make FMOD stream its output to a WAV file. Is this possible? Can I do it by making a DSP unit?

It’s quite easy to do when you create a dsp.
The only thing I don’t know yet is the wave header.
I’ve made a dsp that stores raw data (withouth a header) and one that sends the data to the lame mp3 encoder dll and stores a mp3.
For creating the dsp : you just have to store the values in the buffer you get passed from the dsp to a file. When creating the file, you should also add a wav header.

Adion,

Any chance you could share your code with us?
I’m very interested!

Ok, I think I can share it,
the code I send will be a bit messy, but it can be used.

Here are the urls:
http://www.planetquake.com/qstart/fmod/ … rd_dll.zip
http://www.planetquake.com/qstart/fmod/ … source.zip

The source zip also contains the lame dll that is used for decoding.
The filename is hardcoded, but that can be easily changed.
I plan on making a proper dll to write mp3’s once, but currently this one will get you started.
You also need the fftw library, which can be found at http://www.fftw.org
(If you want to recompile it)

hope it is usefull
