Maybe I’m reading the docs wrong, but is there no concept of an absolute master volume control that applies to all types of sounds in FMOD? I see that there is FSOUND_SetSFXMasterVolume(), but this only affects samples and not any MOD or MIDI music.

The only way that I can see to ramp down the global volume of all playing samples and music is to do something like this:

[code:ri2v42o8]
FSOUND_SetSFXMasterVolume(volume);

for ( each song that is playing )
{
FMUSIC_SetMasterVolume(song)
}
[/code:ri2v42o8]

Am I missing something? Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks :)

Thanks for the quick reply. Along those same lines, are there any plans to implement other global commands in the next version?

For example, it would be easier to do something like:

[code:1zqse3i7]
FSOUND_Master_SetPaused(1);
[/code:1zqse3i7]

instead of

[code:1zqse3i7]
FSOUND_SetPaused(FSOUND_ALL, 1);
FSOUND_CD_SetPaused(1);
FMUSIC_SetPaused(song, 1);
[/code:1zqse3i7]

Looking forward to fmod 4 :)
