Hi,

I want to use fmod to play a sound file compressed in a format not supported by fmod.

I used a FSOUND_STREAMCALLBACK callback with FSOUND_Stream_Create() with some success even though i haven’t implemented loops yet.

I wonder then what is the purpose of the callbacks defined with FSOUND_File_SetCallbacks() ?

FSOUND_File_SetCallbacks allows you to tell FMOD to use your own file functions instead of the standard fread, fwrite etc. or whatever is native to the platform you’re working on. So, whenever FMOD would normally issue an fread, for example, it will call your user-defined read function which might have special code in it to access a wad file or decompress from a packed file on the fly or whatever.
