So, that’s it, apart of having fmod, i also want to have another sound source. But I don’t know if it is posible if fmod has taken the hardware resources. Can they be shared with other sound sources?

thanks

Yes mate, just use the FSOUND_INIT_GLOBALFOCUS flag in with the FSOUND_Init function and make sure you pass the HWND of the main window in the FSOUND_SetHWND function BEFORE the init when you are using DirectSound ๐Ÿ˜€

thanks for the answer.

The case is that the other sound focus is also in the application i’m writing. So I have a lib from fmod and another lib that uses the sound hardware resources. I mean that the application is always on top (foreground window). But until now, when I started the fmod, the other lib couldn’t reproduce the audio.

I have the init with FSOUND_INIT_GLOBALFOCUS and it does not make my other audio source work. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Before the init I have a FSOUND_SetPan(FSOUND_ALL,FSOUND_STEREOPAN). Does it affect in anything?

thanks

Hmm, sounds to me then that the other lib you are using is taking the exclusive access of the sound card. I have used fmod with other sound programs with no problems. Try running your fmod app with other sound programs and then the one with the other lib to see if this is the case 8)

Other than that I am afraid you are going to have to wait for one of the experts (Brett or Andrew) to answer you question ๐Ÿ˜ณ

No. When I initilize the app, I init the fmod. And it is correct done. I can play mp3. The fmod is the sound I can hear. What i cannot hear is the other api, like if fmod took all hardware resources.
