Hello,

I have tried to create a “good looking” spectrum analyser like the one in the FMOD Media Player (WAVE mode), but without success.

I have experimented with the example shipped with FMOD (Delphi/SpectrumUnit) but it never looks as good as the one in the FMP.

Any hints what’s needed to be done?

Thanks in advance,
Mikael S

Well, first of all the “WAVE” mode isn’t a spectrum analyzer at all, it’s a Oscilliscope. You can implement an oscilliscope in your project by simply creating a DSP unit, and instead of changing the buffer, all you will need to do is copy the buffer to an array and then plot it into a picturebox. If you’re doing in Delphi than I think its a bit easier than it is to do in VB.

😳 Whoops.. Sorry :) I’m not into these terms to 100%.

Thanks for the tip, I will play around with it a little.. Haven’t created a DSP before, but it doesn’t seems so complicated.

Thanks
