Hi Brett.

Just a question:
When I call FSOUND_SetPaused() or FMOD_SetVolume() the reaction-time is about half a second. Meaning after I click the Pause-Button, the music goes on playing for another half second. (Same in the FMOD-Player.)
I wonder if this is how FMOD is doing it or if it has to do with some setting on my soundcard?

Prem.

The latency is strictly related to the size of the mixing buffer and it is

2 * (FSOUND_SetBufferSize(milliseconds))

Increasing the buffer size makes fmod more stable but introduces more latency.

I also depends on what soundcard you use,

I’ve tested a Marian 4 digi and that driver is totally not working in DirectSound cos it simulates it with lots of buffers.
So my reaction time was 2 seconds 😮

And that soundcard costs $300
