I’m working with sound effects placed in a 3D environment and it all seems to work fine when the sounds are emitted near the player. The problem is when an explosion goes off at a large distance. I fire off the graphic effects for the blast and the sound at the same time at a distance of say 1 km. The player sees the blast and hears the explosion at the same time, which is not very realistic. The sound should be delayed about 3 seconds considering the large distance.

So my question is, is this something I can get fmod to do for me, or do I have to fix this myself?

Ok, not at big problem. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn’t a simple setting somewhere that I overlooked before I roll my own time ordered queue.

Hmm, can’t find any new information on this. Is the speed of sound attribute available in FMOD Ex, and would Leif’s example work now?
