Are there any plans on adding eax 4? I actually have not looked at what’s special about it, but 4 is bigger than 3, and that’s got to be better, right? :)

It provides multiple simultaneous environments.

Something else that would be very nice is sound cones. Fmod 3 supports some EAX parameters that are only useful with sound cones, but it doesn’t support the cones themselves.

Hi Brett,
sounds themselves may not have direction, but most emitters do. Cup your hands around your mouth and yell :) Another more game related example: the jet from a rocket- it is loudest directly behind the rocket, quite load on either side of the rocket, and softest in front.
I found myself having to use 2d sounds with distance triggered fades to simulate a river in acmipark. It could have been a lot better with sound cones.
I was really hoping for this in fmod 4. Guess I’d better do the OpenAL re-write that’s tempted me plenty before…
