Sorry if this is already implemented (I must have overlooked it in the docs then) or if this nonsense, but…
Would it be possible to add some sort of “channel regain” flag to a playing sound? It would mean that if the sound’s channel is stolen the sound would “later” try to regain a channel (not necessarily the identical channel) and continue playing. This would be really useful for a looping sound, whose channel has temporarily been stolen. Maybe even combine this with a special callback to inform the user about the newly allocated channel.
Right now I do this manually (checking every frame if a so flagged sound-instance needs a channel to continue playing) but it would be great if fmod would support this.
