Two weeks, Brett’s reply is dated 2001.

What’s not working with the FMOD in delphi. I got it up and running smoothly, so I should at least have the basics down…

Have you updated your library path (Preferences -> Enviroment something like that ) with the <fmoddir>\API\Delphi path?

this prorgam should work and play 3 seconds of a file and then close
[code:1h99mv4i]program Project1;

uses
Fmod,fmodtypes,fmoderrors,sysutils;

var
initialised:boolean;
fmodhan:pointer;
fmodchan:integer;

begin
fmod_load(nil);
FSound_SetOutPut(FSOUND_Output_WINMM);
Initialised := FSOUND_Init(44100, 32, 0);
if not Initialised then
raise exception.Create( ‘FMOD initialisation failed’#13 +
FMOD_ErrorString(FSOUND_GetError));
FModHan:=FSOUND_Stream_Open(’c:\mp3file.mp3′,FSOUND_MPEGACCURATE,0,0);
FModChan:=FSOUND_Stream_Play(0,FModHan);
sleep(3000);
FSound_Stream_stop(FModHan);
end.[/code:1h99mv4i]

okay i’ve done it but it took me quite a time
the example that birty gave me was quite accurate, but i’ve also edited my fmod.pas and added the function FSOUND_Stream_Open()
which was missing from my file uknowningly why.
also i’ve removed the FSound_SetOutPut(FSOUND_Output_WINMM);
which game an error [Error] Unit1.pas(32): Incompatible types: ‘fmod.TFSoundOutputTypes’ and ‘Unit1.TFSoundOutputTypes’

that are the changes i’ve made

try redownlaoding the fmod package as it sounds like the fmod.pas is incorrect for some reason. if you create a new project and remove its unit and then open the project file and copy my code exactly into it it should work without modifying the fmod files
