😥 All MP3’s cause ‘Unknown file format’ on HP1940+HP4150+…
Version: 3.71 Platform WCE4/ARMV4

My code:

FSOUND_Init( 22050, 48, FSOUND_INIT_GLOBALFOCUS);
(results successful)

stream = FSOUND_Stream_Open( “C:\Jules.mp3”,
FSOUND_NORMAL | FSOUND_LOOP_NORMAL | FSOUND_2D |
FSOUND_MPEGACCURATE, 0, 0);

Variable stream is NULL and the error message “Unknown file format”
is the result. The tested mp3 file is the Jules.m3 from the media folder of
the original ‘fmodapi371ce.zip’.

After 2 days I tried the included test program fmod-arm.exe – same result!
My equivalent code under the FMOD Windows 2000 version works fine.

Hi Brett,

yes, the shown example was a W32 example. Of course the mp3 folder on pocket pc is ‘\Storage Card...’. But this wasn’t the problem.

Now I found a solution. I installed the jukebox player MortPlayer which use also the fmod library. The included fmodce.dll from Mort has a larger file size and – it works!

Thank you for your help, Guenther
