I’m using text files to create sound banks and for now I just have this:

filename.wav, defvol=???

Most of them are the default of 255, but some I have lowered. In a couple of cases they are really low like between 10-30. In the game they are still very loud. Even without distance attenuation I should only be able to barely hear those sounds. Am I using this feature correctly? This is happening to me on all platforms.

No, I just checked. I’m only making banks with the command line tool and I make sure I’m not passing in ‘-b’.

Any other suggestions?

Is there a way I can set the default volume for the sample some other time during the game so the 3D code will still work? I have a deadline of next Thursday to fix bugs for our E3 demo :)

Okay, the defaults are not getting set correctly, but I can call SetDefaults and that will work, so for now that’s what I’ll do. I’ll try and figure out what’s wrong with my text file.

Thanks!
