Hello, i am new to FMod…

I have looked at the provided samples & some tutorials on the net, and i am wondering is there any reference counting implemented for FSOUND_SAMPLE managment.

ie, for sharing the same sample across different objets, and releasing the sample when nobody use it anymore.

From what i have understood, the FSOUND_SAMPLE Management (FSOUND_FREE), releases only samples at FSOUND_Close().

It doesn’t seems that FSOUND_Sample_Load() returns the same FSOUND_SAMPLE * if called with the same name & parameters (and so increment a reference counter), nor FSOUND_Sample_Free() decrements a counter then kill the sample if 0.

Can anybody confirm that i must implement my own reference counting/ressource management for samples/streams (with FSOUND_UNMANAGED) ?
