Hay all,

Does any one know if there is a way to make FMOD support the new THOMSON Mp3Pro format.

FMOD can play those files but with a very low quality.
Thanks

Mp3pro are backware compatible thought when you play them it will sound like a normal mp3 at low bitrate.
To take advantage of the new compression algorithm, you are right, you need a compatible mp3 engine but Fraunhoffer ask for much more money for that.
Btw, if you want low bitrate and high quality i suggest you the Ogg Vorbis format and/or HE-AAC.

Hay Brett

I know that Mp3Pro is commercial but i didn’t think it costs that much.
I found a plugin for winamp that supports Mp3Pro,I hope that soon there might be some kind of a solution for this.

Thanks.
