Failed to write bank "xxx" because the build file is locked

I’m trying to build desktop version and i get this error. Which stops me from building

FMOD Studio 1.09.05

Hi Dan,

You might not have permission to write to your build folder. If you’re using Source Control be sure to check out the project or check you have permissions to read/write to your build folder and banks.

Also, be sure you are not currently running a game using those banks (such as running in preview mode in Unity).

Thanks,
Richard

Thanks for this possible answer Richard. Unfortunately its not letting me write anywhere.

I can build some banks but others i can’t

when opening the designer project. I found there were “/” for bank names. It wanted to write to a folder that didn’t exist. If i created the folder… i was able to build the bank.

Hi Dan,

Glad to hear it worked out for you.

How did you get the forward slash in the name of the bank? We do not allow that in FMOD Designer or FMOD Studio.

Thanks,
Richard

its it opened that way from designer, you can also add them in the batch rename script

Thanks, Dan. I’ve added something to our tracker about this - thanks for bringing it to our attention.

i do need this function to name path names. I need “blank/bear/attack” to be available. We use these path names

Hi Dan,

We don’t support building to a directory tree like that currently but I can add this suggestion to our tracker.

Thanks,
Richard
